What you pay separately.

  • Medication itself. You pay the pharmacy directly for any prescribed medication. We can advise on typical costs during your consultation.
  • Additional prescriptions. Beyond the one included with each consultation, additional scripts are charged at the doctor's discretion.
  • Blood tests & scans. Third-party services like blood tests, body scans, or imaging are arranged separately at the provider's price.
  • Medication delivery. If you choose home delivery rather than pharmacy collection, the pharmacy will charge for postage.

Pricing FAQ

Questions about money.

Do I need to sign up for anything?

+

No. ThanksDoc is pay-as-you-go. You pay for the consultation you book and that's it. There's no membership, no subscription, no minimum spend.

When am I charged?

+

Payment is taken at the point of booking via our secure payment provider, Stripe. We do not store your card details on our systems. The transaction appears on your statement as "ThanksDoc".

How much will my medication cost?

+

Medication cost varies depending on the drug and the pharmacy. Your doctor can advise on typical pricing during the consultation. You pay the pharmacy directly when you collect or have it delivered.

What if the doctor doesn't prescribe anything?

+

The consultation fee is for the doctor's time and clinical judgement, not for a guaranteed prescription. If after assessment they decide a prescription isn't clinically appropriate, you've still had a private consultation with a UK-registered GP, and the fee stands.

Can I get a refund?

+

Yes, if you cancel more than 48 hours before your appointment. Within 48 hours, no refund is available because the doctor has set aside that time. If we cancel on you, you get a full refund automatically. See Terms section 20 for the full policy.

Do you accept private health insurance?

+

We do not currently bill insurers directly. You pay upfront, and we can provide a receipt for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement (where covered).
